Real Madrid defender Javier Hernandez scored twice as Real Madrid won 2-0 over Napolo on Saturday night in Napoli’s first home league defeat since January.
Gianluigi Donnarumma opened the scoring on a late header after the break before Hernandez, who joined the club from Juventus last summer, scored twice in the second half.
Real Madrid have won their last three league games.
Napoli boss Mauro Icardi was delighted to see his side get back into the match and said it was a good result for the team.
“The players were very professional and they deserved the win, because we were struggling for quality,” Icardio said.
“It was a positive result for us, because the game was going really well.”
Napoli, who were second in Serie A, had lost to Juventus in their previous three league encounters before this victory.
Napolitano said he was delighted with the result.
“I think we played well and the team had quality,” he said.
“I think that we deserved the result.”
Icardio’s side had a chance to score twice late on in the first half but Nesta struck a low shot from just outside the box.
Napoli keeper Federico Fazio made a fine save to deny the shot.
The hosts, who lost 1-0 at Milan on Tuesday, have now lost their last four league matches in all competitions.
Napolo have lost their opening five league games, including the last two.
